Chill Out to Heal Out – The Magic of Cryotherapy
Ever wish your body had a reset button? You know—the kind you press after leg day at the gym, a marathon Netflix binge, or when you pull a muscle sneezing (it happens, no shame). That’s why we offer cryotherapy, the frosty little miracle that’s helping athletes and pain warriors bounce back better than ever—right here at Sports Rehab @ Denver Tech.
And guess what? It’s only $40 a session. That’s cheaper than your fancy energy drinks for the month, and it actually works.
So, What Is Cryotherapy?
In short: it’s your body’s chance to chill—literally. You step into a cryo-sauna, and for 2–3 minutes you’re exposed to liquid nitrogen–cooled air that drops to between -30° and -50°F. Don’t worry—this chilly mist never touches your skin, but boy, does your body notice.
Here’s what goes down phase by phase:
Phase 1: The Big Chill (in the Cryo-Sauna)
Your brain gets a little wake-up call when your body temp drops, and it goes: “Hey! Something’s up!” Cue your body’s natural regulatory functions kicking into gear. While this happens, toxins in your tissues get flushed out and your blood gets supercharged with nutrients and oxygen. This is called vasoconstriction. Oh, and bonus—you also get a big ol’ boost of endorphins (your body’s natural feel-good squad).
Phase 2: Warm & Fuzzy (Right After You Step Out)
As soon as you leave, your body does a 180. It sends that newly enriched blood back out to your extremities. That process? Vasodilation. Translation: your body’s healing abilities just got a turbo boost.
Phase 3: The Afterglow (Up to 48 Hours Later)
For the next two days, your body goes through a natural restoration process. Thanks to the cryo-sauna, you don’t just return to “normal”—you return better than normal. Stronger, faster, less achy. Basically, you become your own upgraded version.
Who’s It For?
- Athletes needing faster recovery
- People with chronic pain or inflammation
